Mad in India: Just a rip off of Comedy Nights with Kapil or a show with its own place!!

ImageStar has always been an advocate of comedy, be it The Great Indian Laughter Challenge or Hans Baliye. It is reviving the same image with their new offering ‘Mad in India’.

It looks like Sunil Grover’s avatar-Gutthi has walked right into ‘Mad in India’ as ‘Chutki’. With such uncanny resemblance, people are bound to compare. This show is going to have two segments- Aam and Khas. Aam is set around a middle class Indian muhalla comprised of quirky characters. There is an English learning center and a salon amongst other things to reflect the mundaneness of daily life. In this part of the show, neighbors can touch upon the popular topics like the issues of the aam aadmi. Coming to the second part of the show, which is a tad like ‘Movers and Shakers’ and this time Manish Paul would be the one interviewing. His hosting skills are tested in a few award shows, hence high expectations there!!

There are a few more known and entertaining characters on this show like Dolly Ahluwalia as Mango Dolly, Shweta Tiwari as Katrina Mishra, and other popular comedians like Khayali, Siddharth Jadhav, Rehman Khan, Rajbir Kaur and Paritosh Tripathi.

For the first guest, speculations are dwindling between Sachin Tendulkar and Ramdev. But unlike CNWK they are not sticklers for Bollywood celebrities as guests.

The team says that, at the end of the day what matters is if they can make their audience laugh in whichever format and space. It is going to be a primetime show and time will only tell how it fairs against the heavily in demand CNWK.
