2.7 Mn Indians watch first U.S Presidential Debate 2016

The first presidential debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump had 2.7 million Indian TV viewers tuned in to watch the live telecast on 27th September 2016. Aired from 6 AM to 8:30 AM IST, the live broadcast experienced the highest viewership in the last hour of the debate -  0.9 million viewers.

Looking at the recent viewership for live American content on Indian television, the debate witnessed a much larger number of Indian viewers compared to the NFL Kickoff match on 9th September, both of which aired live during the same time-slot. 

Among cities in India, Hyderabad experienced the highest viewership with 0.41 million individuals watching the debate LIVE on television. Take a look at some of the viewership trends:
