Tech Aficionados Under One Roof: UNBLT 2019!

Just a two-day event or a jamboree time in Zapr? Indeed both! Zapr’s 2019 tech event was a great learning curve for all attendees as it helped them to paint a picture of our R&D works along with getting a flair of our offerings. The conference commenced with Siddharth Agarwal, Senior Vice President – Engineering at Zapr, delineating our growth over the past two years both in terms of personnel and revenues. It was followed by a brief talk from our Co-founder & CTO, Sajo Mathews asserting the need to ‘Build the Unbuilt’ along with highlighting Zapr’s mission to continuously navigate the new paths for discovering ‘The Unknown Planes’ in businesses.

The colloquium also marked the presence of some external speakers who shared their industry experience and stressed on the importance of continuous innovation to leapfrog among market peers. For instance, our special guest speaker Arvind Jayaprakash, Senior Vice President, Platforms, infrastructure and architecture at InMobi talked about the importance of long-term planning for building state-of-the-art products and solutions. To put this into perspective, he quipped, “You shouldn’t invest in platforms unless you have developed a culture for it.” We also had the opportunity to understand the importance of being life-long learners from one of our other guest speakers Mohan Nellore, Director of Engineering at Visa. Being an avid learner himself, Nellore elucidated how his eagerness to continuously learn and navigate into different industries continually fueled his knowledge in a career spanning for more than 18 years. One of the many highlights of his speech was a quote from Brian Tracy, an American-Canadian motivational speaker, which reads, “Be a life-long student. The more you learn, the more you earn and the more self-confidence you will have.”

The event also served as a profound platform for our internal teams as it brought them under the same roof to explain the keynotes of their projects and their vision for the days ahead. Starting from our internal R&D work, product development stages to our future releases, our pool of research scientists and product engineers explained the architecture behind our offerings and along with highlighting Zapr’s rigorous commitment to revamp the advertising market.

Additionally, the conference also empowered our cross-functional teams to garner knowledge of each other’s work along with presenting their domain of expertise. As the tagline of the event was ‘Build the unbuilt,’ our engineers showcased their technical prowess in discovering the unknown territories in the tech sphere and continually bringing forth cutting-edge developments in the space. Moving ahead, our consensus will be to emerge as the largest media repository in the global market by focusing on innovation and protecting our core values.
