Despite big budget Khan starrers stealing the limelight with box office collections, this Filmfare Awards saw the real talent getting rewarded. Kangna Ranaut and Shahid Kapoor received the awards for their great performances in ‘Queen’ and ‘Haider’. And a low budget, off beat movie like Ankhon Dekhi, won the award for best story. With our renewed faith in awards, let’s see how they enthralled the audience.

Sony’s share in the ‘Hindi Entertainment’ genre in the weekend prime time slot has been hovering around 15 % when Colors gets a whopping 43% because of the fan following of ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’. But when Sony aired the most popular awards for Indian cinema, the Filmfare Awards, there was a turnaround for it. The viewership share almost tripled attracting a lot of new audience. Also the channel's weekly reach went up by 20%. an unusual trend compared to other channels.

Comedy Nights with Kapil has fans around all of us. It has been the top show for the weekend, gripping about 36 percent of the 'Hindi entertainment' audience, weekend on weekend. Filmfare Awards did not only come close but performed marginally better with a 44% share. No doubt we have a crazy number of Bollywood fans in India.
