200 Mn viewers watch India Vs NZ series: ODIs garner IPL level viewership

New Zealand’s Cricket tour of India coincided perfectly with the Diwali festivities: the Test matches followed by India’s glaring victory at the ODIs attracted a massive viewership of 200 million unique TV viewers in India. In a show of high viewership loyalty, 69% of viewers watched both the Test series and ODIs.

The ODI game format garnered 64% higher viewership than the Test matches, even rivalling the viewership numbers of the world’s largest viewed cricket league - the IPL.

Salman Khan steals weekend Hindi entertainment viewership:  ‘Sultan’ and ‘Bigg Boss 10’ boost channel performance

The weekend was all about (the other) King Khan: Salman’s latest box office hit ‘Sultan’ premiered on television (Sony Max), while Colors TV launched season 10 of India’s most popular reality TV show ‘Bigg Boss’ - hosted by Salman Khan for the sixth time. The shows had a massive impact on weekend Hindi entertainment viewership - giving popular TV shows like The Kapil Sharma Show a run for their money.

Launched in July 2015, Colors Infinity has seen an interesting one year with the launch of original shows like ‘The Stage’ and ‘Vogue BFFs’. Competing with other premium English channels such as Star World Premiere, AXN and FX, the channel has seen high loyalty from viewers: 84% of those who watched Colors Infinity in the months of April and May have continued watching the channel through September 2016.
